rik, Dare, Flynn, and Caspian had taken to going for a swim at the cove when the alphas were working. While they had claimed each other, Erik was still holding back. He was waiting for the other shoe to drop. He couldn’t explain it. He just knew it couldn’t be this easy. And what about Dare? They deserved their own life and staying with Erik and Erik’s mate wasn’t it. As much as Erik didn’t want to lose his sibling, he deserved his own happily ever after.

He also missed his mother and brother, and maybe if he was honest, his father. But he was scared of his father too. As much as he knew the man loved him, he knew that the kingdom would always come before Erik.

It was fun teaching Caspian to swim, and Flynn knew how, just not very well. The twins used their Song so Caspian and Flynn could swim with them, and they could show them all the coral reefs and things that humans wouldn’t normally see unless they were in a diving suit. Which, in Erik’s opinion, was no fun at all. The Song lasted for about an hour before they had to recast it.

The shifters response to seeing sea life for the first time made it fun again for Erik. And Dare was opening up to the two omegas. They’d never really fit in with other sirens. Most people saw them as royalty and treated them as such.

“These are all amazing,” Flynn claimed about the shells in his hand. “I know you’re probably tired of them, but they really are quite lovely.”

“Are you kidding I love—” Erik was cut off as a hand wrapped around his mouth. Flynn’s eyes going wide.

“Dǫglingr Jerrick, Fólkhagi Derrick,” a voice said coolly near his ear as hands clamped down on him. Thankfully his mating bite was on the other side of his neck. He did not want his father’s goons knowing about his mate. Rán, he wished people stop using their titles and birth names, nether one of them like it.

How did they find us? Dare asked. This was exactly what Erik had been afraid of.

Don’t say a word about Jax or eggs.

Never.

“Let them go,” Flynn demanded.

“Stay out of this, fox,” Ervin snarled in English, although how he knew English was beyond Erik. Ervin was his father’s personal bodyguard. He was the embodiment of alpha male. Even though he was older than Erik’s father, he had tried to get both him and Dare to mate him at one point or another. It was rather gross.

Alpha Power flooded the area, “I said let him go.” As Alpha Mate, Flynn was able to use Brody’s Alpha Power. He wasn’t nearly as strong as his alpha, and it was slightly different than the power that his father had as king. He wasn’t sure if it was because sirens were different from other shifters or what but that was neither here nor there.

“You think your puny little show of power will bend my knee, omega? Not even your Alpha has power over me.
